The First International Summer School on Network and Service Management (ISSNSM 2007) takes place on July 9-13 2007 at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany. The summer school in a unique way combines class room lectures (theory) with hands on lab sessions (practice) and primarily targets PhD. students working in the area of network and service management. The 10th IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM'2007) will be held 21-25 May in Munich Germany. EMANICS is strongly involved in the organization of this world class event chaired by Gabi Dreo-Rodosek (General Chair). More details can be found on the IM '2007 web site.
IFIP/IEEE DSOM'2006 Best Paper Award to Mark Burgess and Gard Undheim

The IFIP/IEEE DSOM'2006 Best Paper Award was awarded to to our colleagues Mark Burgess and Gard Undheim from Oslo University College for their paper entitled "Predictable Scaling Behavior in the Data Centre with Multiple Application Servers".

First EMANICS Contribution to an IETF Proposed Standard

The IESG has approved the document "Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) over IEEE 802 Networks" as a Proposed Standard. EMANICS did contribute to this standard thanks to the strong involvement of our colleague J. Schönwälder from IUB. The document can be found here.
AIMS '2007 in cooperation with the ACM

The 1st International Conference on Autonomous Infrastructure, Management and Security (AIMS) takes place in Oslo, Norway, on June 21-23 2007. The event is sponsored by EMANICS and organized in cooperation with the ACM. The call for papers, tutorials and doctoral student contributions is open. EMANICS researchers successful at DSOM'2006 during MANWEEK'2006

EMANICS participants have seven papers accepted at DSOM 2006, three of them in the area of Scalable Management.  DSOM 2006 received a total of 85 submissions from which 21 papers were accepted for publication and presentation. EMANICS partners therefore contribute a third of the technical DSOM 2006 program. For more details about the event, see the MANWEEK'2006 web page. 
Workshop on Future Directions of Network and Service Management Research

EMANICS organizes together with the IRTF NMRG a workshop to bring together researchers, operators, vendors and technology developers to identify promising future directions of network management research. The workshop will take place in Utrecht, Netherlands, on October 19-20 2006. The outcome produced by the workshop should be a description of research directions that is felt worthwhile to explore in a timeframe of the next five years.

IM 2007 (21-25 May 2007, Munich, Germany),  the most important conference in the area of network and service management in 2007, is organized with strong involvement of EMANICS partners. In particular, EMANICS partners are involved in the role of the general  chair, a TPC co-chair, the tutorial chair, the panel chair, a finance co-chair, a poster chair, a workshop chair.
