Abstract

Grids today are characterized by the chasm between business and research requirements. Many are greeting the grid with a lot of optimism, but there are still many uncertainties about the ultimate direction and feasibility of grid technologies (GT). Despite the fact that academic community are resolving and exploiting many of them, there is an evident reluctance from the business community to act likewise. Grid Strategies research and advisory program must prepares Business utilities to better handle more advanced grid technologies that are entering the market, even those that are still in the testing stages, and have to identify opportunities to maximize the business value of new Grid Technology investments taking into account failures in the System. This Thesis aims to achieve a better business profit providing a generic model for predicting quality of service (QoS) aware fault tolerance (FT) in Grid environment.
