The scope of the PhD thesis is the conceptual development and prototypical implementation of a service-oriented Grid accounting architecture for dynamic Virtual Organizations (VO) within multi-provider Grid environments.
Dealing with complex virtual services and virtual resources where service compositions have to take place on-demand, for certain periods of time, and across organizational boundaries imposes new challenging requirements from the perspective of the underlying accounting system.
Brief description of the scope and objectives of the PhD thesis:
Development of a service model for dynamic VOs overcoming the typically static nature of traditional Grids
Comprehensive requirements analysis wrt. requirements of the accounting system based on several real-world scenarios
Detailed evaluation of existing Grid accounting approaches and standardization efforts
Description of a job workflow wrt. relevant accounting processes
Identification of accountable units for Grid services and grid resources
Identification of accounting relevant components and interfaces within a VO
Assessment done through prototypical implementation in a real-world testbed at our institute
