Abstract

The work focuses on resource trading within Grids and Clouds to build a connection between these two models of the utilization of computing power and storage space. Since Clouds are becoming more and more interesting - also in scientific communities - this aspect will also be discussed and solutions provided. Cloud computing could get a very feasible instrument to cover peaks. Making use of monitoring tools, one is able to forward the gathered information to some kind of accounting-billing or trading system. Such a system could enable a more global workload management. In the area of Cloud computing resource trading mechanisms will become more and more necessary since Clouds often use spare resources of computing centres. One of the problems working with heterogenous infrastructures is to consolidate monitoring information from different monitoring tools to be able to get a global overview of the resources.
